WELCOME!!  We are glad that you have joined us this morning as we lift up our hearts and voices in response to God’s great gift of forgiveness and life in Christ Jesus.  If you are a visitor, please sign our guest book and introduce yourself to Pastor Wolfgram.

LONNY AND KORI LANG attended the Encore weekend with Pastor Wolfgram as part of the Doxology training in January.  They will share insights in how this training can help our congregation better care for souls in our congregation and community.   Join us during the education hour from 9:30-10:30.

ARTICLES FOR THE April Newsletter are due in the church office by Tuesday, March 26.  Please send to shepvalley@gmail.com

AT SHEPHERD OF THE VALLEY LUTHERAN CHURCH we celebrate the Lord’s Supper in the confidence that we receive, along with the bread and wine, our Savior’s true body and blood “through and in which we  obtain the forgiveness of sins.”  Besides individually receiving Christ’s free gift of forgiveness in this sacrament, all those who commune make a confession of the faith that we believe and teach in the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod.  To commune at this altar is to accept the doctrinal position of this congregation.  Because of that common confession, we invite those who are members at sister Missouri Synod Churches to join us at the Lord’s Table.  If you would like more information on our understanding of the Lord’s Supper, please visit with Pastor Wolfgram.

WE ARE SUPPORTING “Christ’s Care for Children” in Kenya during the first quarter of 2019.  Christ’s Care for Children: Kenya is a child sponsorship program, initiated by the LCMS Office of International Mission. It is directly linked to the Project 24 sites in Kenya. It is through care and compassion for these children that they receive safe housing, food, education and spiritual care. Each site is strategically located near an Evangelical Lutheran Church of Kenya church and school so that the children can receive academic as well as spiritual teaching and care.

JOIN US WEDNESDAY as we continue our journey through the Lenten season under the theme: “Behold the Man.”  This week we consider “A God Who Prays”.  The service begins at 7:00 PM.

WE ARE GRATEFUL TO our Board of Trustees and those who have helped to keep the snow cleared from our sidewalks and parking lot this winter.  Be sure to thank them for their service.  Spring is almost here!

Mayfest Tickets will be available at the school office.  You may purchase them at the school office or from your BMLSA church board member.

We are looking for donations for both the silent and live auctions, and we greatly appreciate the many the donations we have received in the past. However, because we will have limited space for the silent auction items in our new venue, we are looking at what sort of things that are popular such as

  • Camping, outdoors items, grills:
  • Sporting gear.
  • NDSU, UND themed items
  • Small, kitchen appliance items
  • Spa/ luxury items
  • Gardening items
  • Gourmet food and beverages

Attire is casual, and “galactic apparel” is welcome!

THE HANG OUT meets Tuesday, March 19, 6:00 PM at the home of Pastor and Denise Wolfgram.  We’ll have pizza and other treats along with great fellowship and study of God’s Word.  4601 Rolling Ridge Road is the place to be on Tuesday night.  Join us!

PEOPLE MATTER will meet at Shepherd of the Valley on Thursday at 10:00 AM at Shepherd of the Valley.

PASTOR AND DENISE are planning to attend the 125th Anniversary Concert for Concordia University, Seward, on Saturday night in Lincoln, NE where Dane Wolfgram plays in the band and sings in the Men’s Choir.  Vicar Woodside is available for pastoral care and will lead services on Sunday, March 24th.

IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO sponsor Easter lilies, there are sign up sheets in the fellowship hall. They are $9.00 each and can be ordered thru April 14th. Lilies may be taken home after Easter. Those not taken home will be planted in the church gardens. Thank you for helping to beautify our church for Easter!

DID YOU KNOW – Shepherd of the Valley and Bethel women have been participating in a shared Bible Study for the last couple of years?  They meet at Shepherd of the Valley on the second Saturday of each month at 9:30 a.m.  In March they will be meeting on March 9.  The Bible Study is “Waiting: A Bible Study on Patience, Hope, and Trust” by Sharla Fritz.  In March they will be studying about Anna and her wait to see the Savior.  We would love to have you join us!  The book can be purchased through CPH. If you have any questions you can contact Sue Hartley-Wolfgram at 460-0229 or at blessingspreserved@yahoo.com.
