WELCOME!! We are glad that you have joined us this morning as we lift up our hearts and voices in response to God’s great gift of forgiveness and life in Christ Jesus. If you are a visitor, please sign our guest book and introduce yourself to Pastor Les Wolfgram.

AT SHEPHERD OF THE VALLEY LUTHERAN CHURCH we celebrate the Lord’s Supper in the confidence that we receive, along with the bread and wine, our Savior’s true body and blood “through and in which we obtain the forgiveness of sins.” Besides individually receiving Christ’s free gift of forgiveness in this sacrament, all those who commune make a confession of the faith that we believe and teach in the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod. To commune at this altar is to accept the doctrinal position of this congregation. Because of that common confession, we invite those who are members at sister Missouri Synod Churches to join us at the Lord’s Table. If you would like more information on our understanding of the Lord’s Supper, please visit with Pastor Wolfgram.

TRAINING FOR greeters and ushers will take place on Thursday, January 9, 7:00 pm.

SHEPHERD OF THE VALLEY will host the Pre-Lent Retreat for pastors in the ND District LC-MS on Monday and Tuesday of this week. Rev. Bernie Worral will assist pastors in preparing for special services during mid-week Lent services beginning on Ash Wednesday, February 26th.

A SPECIAL voters meeting will take place on Sunday, January 12, during the education hour to consider a Divine Call to Justin Woodside as Shared Assisting Pastor. The “Facilities Committee” will also reveal and explain a first draft of plans for expansion at Shepherd of the Valley.  A joint meal and meeting will then take place on January 26 at Bethel Lutheran Church. The Pot Bless meal will begin at 12:15 with the joint voters meeting at 1:00 PM.

THE ANNUAL Winter Men’s Retreat will take place at Shepherd’s Hill at the Crossroads on Friday, January 17, 6:00 through 1:00 pm Saturday, January 18.   The featured speaker will be Rev. Jeff Hemmer, author of “Man Up.” Rev. Hemmer will address the “Quest For Masculinity”. Cost for the retreat is $80.00 and includes three meals, lodging, and speaker. Sign up in the narthex or visit with Pastor Wolfgram if you’d like to attend.

THE CHRISTMAS TREE will be taken down on January 11 beginning at 10:00 AM.

THANK YOU for your kind expressions of love through cards and gifts at Christmas. It continues to be my joy to serve as your pastor. I look forward to all that the Lord has in store for our congregation in the coming year.
