WELCOME!!  We are glad that you have joined us this morning as we lift up our hearts and voices in response to God’s great gift of forgiveness and life in Christ Jesus.  If you are a visitor, please sign our guest book and introduce yourself to Pastor Les Wolfgram.

“TAKE HEART IN YOUR GRIEF” will be offered at Shepherd of the Valley starting Sunday, October 6.  Pastor Marcis and Pastor Wolfgram will lead the six-week course beginning at 6:30 each Sunday.  If you are mourning the death of a loved one and would like support and information to help you navigate the journey of grief, “Take Heart In Your Grief” will prove to be a blessing for you.  To register or for more information call the church office at 701-258-4231.

AT SHEPHERD OF THE VALLEY LUTHERAN CHURCH we celebrate the Lord’s Supper in the confidence that we receive, along with the bread and wine, our Savior’s true body and blood “through and in which we  obtain the forgiveness of sins.”  Besides individually receiving Christ’s free gift of forgiveness in this sacrament, all those who commune make a confession of the faith that we believe and teach in the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod.  To commune at this altar is to accept the doctrinal position of this congregation.  Because of that common confession, we invite those who are members at sister Missouri Synod Churches to join us at the Lord’s Table.  If you would like more information on our understanding of the Lord’s Supper, please visit with Pastor Wolfgram.

BRIAN YOUNG FROM Creation Instruction Association will be presenting at Martin Luther School, Wednesday, October 9th. Brian will present to the MLS students during the day.  He will have an evening presentation at 7:00 at Zion Lutheran Church, 413 East Avenue D, Bismarck. This is open to the public.  Perfect for confirmation classes! Everyone is welcome to attend!  Call the school at 224-9070 if you have any questions.

SAVE THE DATE – new member brunch on November 3 between services. Enjoy good food and fellowship!

THE YOUTH OF MESSIAH would like to invite area LCMS youth to join us  for A Youth Fun Night  on Sunday,  October 13 at Messiah Lutheran,  1020 Boundary Rd, Mandan. The outdoor fun will begin at 5:00 and wrap up at 8:00. Supper will be served. If the weather is cold or rainy, we will move inside.

EVERYONE HIS WITNESS (E1HW) “emphasizes listening to people to understand their worldview and where their lives connect with Jesus’ story. It does not focus on learning witnessing scripts or methods for engaging total strangers.”  E1HW will be held on October 12th from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM with time allowed for lunch that will be provided by the church.  The cost to attend the workshop will be $10 to cover the workbook used in the training.  The goal attendance for this workshop is 36 people divided into 6 groups of 6 people.  There is still time to register.  Sign up today or email our Vision Path chair anncwnd@gmail.com.

THE NEXT MEN’S NETWORK will take place on Saturday, October 19 from 9:00-11:00 at Shepherd of the Valley.  “We The People:  Citizens Of Two Kingdoms” will be the focus of the Bible Study.  Breakfast will be served at 9:00am.  Pastor Wolfgram will lead the video-based study.

THE NEXT HANG OUT will take place on Tuesday, October 15 at 6:00 pm.

“FRIENDS NIGHT OUT” with Women’s Care Center, formerly First Choice Clinic will take place on October 15 at the Ramkota Hotel in Bismarck.  Social hour begins at 6:00 pm with the program at 7:00-8:30 pm.  This annual fundraiser event is an opportunity to socialize, meet staff, enjoy appetizers and hear their guest speaker, Kailee Perrin.  Call 701-237-6530 or visit https://teamfirstchoice.com/events to learn more and to register.
