WELCOME!!  We are glad that you have joined us this morning as we lift up our hearts and voices in response to God’s great gift of forgiveness and life in Christ Jesus.  If you are a visitor, please sign our guest book and introduce yourself to Pastor Les Wolfgram.

AT SHEPHERD OF THE VALLEY LUTHERAN CHURCH we celebrate the Lord’s Supper in the confidence that we receive, along with the bread and wine, our Savior’s true body and blood “through and in which we  obtain the forgiveness of sins.”  Besides individually receiving Christ’s free gift of forgiveness in this sacrament, all those who commune make a confession of the faith that we believe and teach in the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod.  To commune at this altar is to accept the doctrinal position of this congregation.  Because of that common confession, we invite those who are members at sister Missouri Synod Churches to join us at the Lord’s Table.  If you would like more information on our understanding of the Lord’s Supper, please visit with Pastor Wolfgram

A JOINT VOTERS MEETING will take place next Sunday, January 26, at Bethel Lutheran Church to formally call Justin Woodside as Shared Assisting Pastor.  A pot-bless meal will take place at 12:00 and the meeting will take place at 1:00 PM.  Let’s have a great showing of Shepherd members for this exciting meeting.

MERCY IN ACTION will take place on Saturday, February 29 at Shepherd of the Valley from 9:00 am – 3:00 pm.  Rev. Dr. Adam Filipek will share “Rich In Mercy” as he talks about his experiences in caring for people in New York City, Ferguson, MO, and in the rural setting of Lidgerwood, ND.  The cost is $15.00 pre-registration or  $20.00 at the door.  Lunch will be provided.  Register at https://sotv-bis.org/mercy-in-action-registration/ .  Contact Pastor Wolfgram at pastor.wolfgram@gmail.com if you have questions.

JAN 26:     Rev. Thomas Puffe, St John’s Lutheran Church, Thief River Falls, MN, and Zion Lutheran Church, Warren, MN, presents the message: Matthew 4:16,” based on Matthew 4:12-25. “This Is The Life” program: “The Hand of God” deals with making opportunities from problems.  Programs are broadcast  at 10:00am Central (9:00am Mountain) on KBMY Xtra Channel 17.3 or 594 Bismarck/Dickinson – as well as the cable and satellite systems carrying these stations.

SPEAKING OF LIFE Did God really say, “Called me from the womb” (Isaiah 49:1)? Did God really say, “A light for the nations” (Isaiah 49:6) – all ages, appearances, and abilities? He is a God Who speaks, and His every Word gives human lives worth and purpose. Has He not also made our mouths like sharp swords (Isaiah 49:2), proclaiming the glad news of the Lamb whose sacrifice delivers (Psalm 40:9) from any surrender to death?

BE SURE TO TAKE A LOOK at the architect draft for our proposed expansion including kitchen, classrooms, and fellowship space.  A congregational forum will take place on March 29 to receive feedback and updates.  The facilities committee wants to hear your insights.

FAMILY FUN NIGHT! Families, Fun, Food! Please join us for an evening of games on Friday , January 24th at 5:30pm. Bring your favorite game and snack (optional) to share. We are planning on serving sloppy joes, hotdogs, chips, beverage and bars/cookies. Please sign your name(s) on the sign-up sheet in the narthex so we know how much food to prepare. Thank you, Stewardship committee.
