A SPECIAL WELCOME for Pastor Woodside and family will take place on Wednesday, August 26, prior to the midweek service. Brats, hotdogs, chips, and other picnic foods will be served at our welcome picnic. Food will be served at 6:00 pm. Plan to stay of the 7:00 pm service as Pastor Woodside preaches and leads the service. Gift cards or other welcome gifts and cards are encouraged as we welcome the Woodsides. If you prefer gift cards, please be sure to contact Martin Luther School as they have plenty of scrip.
THE HUMAN CARE COMMITTEE has selected North Dakota District LC-MS 1-1-1 effort as the recipient for the third quarter. This includes support for Pastor Dan Suelzle at Wittenberg Chapel on the campus at UND.
“FROM INVISIBLE TO INDISPENSABLE” is the theme for the 2020 Lutherans For Life Regional Conference at St. Andrew Lutheran Church in West Fargo on Saturday, August 29. Registration fee is $50.00 ($25.00 student) and includes lunch.
PLANS ARE COMING TOGETHER for the 12’ X 16’ storage shed that will be built by Grayson Lawyer as his Eagle Scout project. Donations to this effort are greatly appreciated. Check out the flags and paint outline at the end of the sidewalk on the east end of the parking lot.
A CONFIRMATION RETREAT will take place on Saturday, August 29, for students in grade 6-8. We will gather at Bethel Lutheran Church at 8:30 am and return to Bismarck by 7:00 pm. The retreat will take place at Lake #5 in Kidder County near Dawson, ND. Pastor Woodside, Pastor Walla, and Pastor Wolfgram will lead the retreat. Parents are welcome!
SHARED PASTOR PLAN… Pastor Woodside will serve Bethel and Shepherd of the Valley on Sunday mornings by rotating between the two congregations on a monthly basis. He will be at Shepherd of the Valley during the months of September and November in 2020. This will bring consistency and provide all of us the opportunity to get to know one another better. It will also give Pastor Woodside and Pastor Wolfgram the opportunity to lead Bible studies that are at least four sessions in length.
