WELCOME!! We are glad that you have joined us this morning as we lift up our hearts and voices in response to God’s great gift of forgiveness and life in Christ Jesus. If you are a visitor, please sign our guest book and introduce yourself to Pastor Les Wolfgram.
AT SHEPHERD OF THE VALLEY LUTHERAN CHURCH we celebrate the Lord’s Supper in the confidence that we receive, along with the bread and wine, our Savior’s true body and blood “through and in which we obtain the forgiveness of sins.” Besides individually receiving Christ’s free gift of forgiveness in this sacrament, all those who commune make a confession of the faith that we believe and teach in the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod. To commune at this altar is to accept the doctrinal position of this congregation. Because of that common confession, we invite those who are members at sister Missouri Synod Churches to join us at the Lord’s Table. CATECHISM INSTRUCTION Orientation for students in grade 6-8, along with their parents, will take place on August 19, 7:30 PM.
THE HUMAN CARE COMMITTEE has selected North Dakota District LC-MS 1-1-1 effort as the recipient for the third quarter. This includes support for Pastor Dan Suelzle at Wittenberg Chapel on the campus at UND.
THERE ARE SEVERAL vacancies on the mowing list located in the narthex. You are invited to sign up to mow the church lot. Upon request, a trustee will train you on how to run the mower.
The Ordination/Installation Service for Pastor Justin Woodside will take place on Sunday, August 2nd, 4:00 PM at Bethel Lutheran Church. Pastor Woodside will preach and lead the midweek service on August 5.
“FROM INVISIBLE TO INDISPENSABLE” is the theme for the 2020 Lutherans For Life Regional Conference at St. Andrew Lutheran Church in West Fargo on Saturday, August 29. Registration fee is $50.00 ($25.00 student) and includes lunch.
MARTIN LUTHER FANS: We have a few outside projects that we would like to have completed before school starts. Tasks include pulling weeds from out of the playground (Zion campus and Shepherd of the Valley), cleaning up and trimming the bushes and plants on the west side of the building a painting the bench. We would also like to clean up the brick patio area by the west door. These can be done on a time that works for you, so let me know if you’d like to help!
