WE REJOICE AS WE WELCOME Pastor Woodside and his family back to Bismarck. We look forward to all that the Lord has in store for ministry at Bethel and Shepherd of the Valley as Pastor Woodside serves Christ and His Church, in partnership with Pastor Walla and Pastor Wolfgram A special welcome for the Woodsides will take place on Wednesday, August 24, prior to the midweek service. Brats, hotdogs, chips, and other picnic foods will be served and yard games will be available for kids. Games and other activities begin at 5:00pm. Food will be served at 6:00 pm. Plan to stay of the 7:00 pm service as Pastor Walla preaches and Pastor Woodside leads the liturgy. THE HUMAN CARE COMMITTEE has selected North Dakota District LC-MS 1-1-1 effort as the recipient for the third quarter.   This includes support for Pastor Dan Suelzle at Wittenberg Chapel on the campus at UND.

“FROM INVISIBLE TO INDISPENSABLE” is the theme for the 2020 Lutherans For Life Regional Conference at St. Andrew Lutheran Church in West Fargo on Saturday, August 29. Registration fee is $50.00 ($25.00 student) and includes lunch.

CATECHISM INSTRUCTION ORIENTATION for students in grade 6-8, along with their parents, will take place on August 19, 7:30 PM.

MARTIN LUTHER FANS:  We have a few outside projects that we would like to have completed before school starts.  Tasks include pulling weeds from out of the playground (Zion campus and Shepherd of the Valley), cleaning up and trimming the bushes and plants on the west side of the building a painting the bench.  We would also like to clean up the brick patio area by the west door. These can be done on a time that works for you, so let me know if you’d like to help! THE BOARD OF YOUTH is looking for senior high youth to help serve on the Board. Those interested are encouraged to attend the next Board meeting August 12^th at 7:45pm after the Wednesday evening service at Shepherd of the Valley.
